Holistic Birth Preparation
Heaven and Birth offers holistic birth preparation which combines ancient wisdom, self-discovery and simple ritual with modern midwifery care to help you prepare more deeply for labour, birth and parenting.
Led by experienced and creative midwives and a multi-talented support team, Heaven and Birth run holistic pregnancy retreats, weekend and day workshops creating uplifting, inspirational and transformational experiences for pregnant women, their partners and families.
The Heaven and Birth team combine their experience in facilitating deep group work with practical midwifery and other diverse skills and knowledge. Our workshops offer you a unique birth preparation within a relaxed and creative environment where you can explore what it really means for you to make this journey into parenthood. We cannot promise you a particular outcome for your birth, but we can provide you with the tools to mobilize environmental and emotional support to make birth easier.
It is our intention that you will leave feeling rested, refreshed and inspired, with a clear understanding of what you need for a conscious and empowering birth.
Honouring Birth and Respecting the Earth
Many native and tribal peoples speak of the Earth being our Mother, deeply understanding the interdependence between human and non human nature knowing that whatever happens to the earth affects each one of us.
Our current western lifestyle has resulted in a disconnection from the Earth and the natural flow of life. The medical model of birth similarly disconnects us from our bodies and the natural process of birth. Intuition, emotions and spirituality are often ignored in pregnancy and women can find themselves scared of birth, experiencing unnecessary intervention and feeling disempowered and disconnected at this transformative time.
At Heaven and Birth, we believe that the spiritual, emotional and physical aspects of pregnancy and birth are interdependent. All of this needs to be nourished for a truly healthy birth experience building the foundations for parenting to flourish and being part of a turning of the tide to bring a new wave of respect for the Earth.
Practical and Profound Workshops
At this pivotal time in our planet’s history there is a need to rekindle the interdependence between people and planet. Heaven and Birth workshops and retreats aim to restore respect for birth and the earth, looking at how to give birth and raise children in ways which honour and respect both ourselves and the earth.
